Your YouTube signal, sealed.

A highly customizable, privacy-focused desktop YouTube client that aims to provide the best UX.

Why OpenTubeX

Five reasons to switch

A client that stays private, flexible, and yours to shape.

End-to-end encrypted sync

Settings and watch state travel encrypted between your machines. Only you hold the keys. The sync stack is open source and self-hostable if you want your own server.

Private by default

OpenTubeX does not profile you. No analytics, no fingerprinting, no silent telemetry.

Feature-rich

Tabs, SponsorBlock, Auto PiP, transcripts, downloads, Ambient Mode, and more.

Built to customize

Themes, shortcuts, per-channel playback settings, layout tweaks, and deep settings let you shape the client around how you actually watch.

Open source, auditable

Inspect the code, fork it, and verify the claims for yourself.

How OpenTubeX is built

AI-assisted development

OpenTubeX is developed extensively with AI-assisted tools. This allows our small maintainer team to develop features, fix bugs, and iterate much more rapidly. The source code remains open for anyone to inspect, review, modify, or fork.

This refers to how OpenTubeX is developed. It does not mean the app sends your viewing data to an AI service. If AI-assisted development does not align with your preferences, OpenTubeX may simply not be the right project for you.
