Extra Features

OpenTubeX is a fork that adds extra features beyond the original project. Here is what’s unique so far.

Remember playback speed on a per-channel basis. You can enable it in settings, save automatically when you change speed, or use a button under the player to save manually.

Remember video quality on a per-channel basis with the same workflow as per-channel playback speed.

Choose whether seek intervals (arrow keys and J/L) are multiplied by playback rate.

Display improved chapter tooltips directly on the seekbar and show the current chapter list in the sidebar.

Focus the search bar by pressing /, in addition to Ctrl+L or Cmd+L.

Display SponsorBlock community-contributed chapters, including Highlight and Hook/Greetings segments, in the player. Hover over a seekbar segment to see its category label.

Submit SponsorBlock segments directly from the player. This feature is experimental.

Use browser-style tabs in horizontal or vertical layouts, with pinning, colors, thumbnail previews, duplication, unloading, reordering, moving between windows, bulk closing, YouTube link copying, and configurable session restoration.

Set a script to run when YouTube blocks your IP. OpenTubeX waits for the script to finish, then reloads the video.

Reorder or remove playlist items during playback and remember the reverse state of each playlist.

Synchronize subscriptions, playlists, history, per-channel playback speeds, profiles, tabs, and settings with end-to-end encryption. LibreTube Sync servers are supported too.

Revisit searches with their filters restored, and use filter chips when searching within a channel.

Choose how much of a video must play before it counts as watched. Set the threshold to 0% to mark videos as watched immediately.
